Itinerary Highlights

Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve

Your Olifant Safaris adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel, residence, or the airport in Nairobi by our professional safari representative. After a short safari briefing, depart Nairobi and travel south towards the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve. The journey takes you through the beautiful landscapes of the Great Rift Valley, offering breathtaking views of escarpments, valleys, and the scenic Kenyan countryside. Continue through the Kedong and Suswa plains before making a stop in the Maasai town of Narok for a short break. Proceed to the Maasai Mara, arriving in time for lunch at your accomodation. After some relaxation, begin your first afternoon game drive at approximately 4:00 PM. Explore the vast golden savannah in search of Africa’s most iconic wildlife, including lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, and rhinos, famously known as the Big Five. You will also have opportunities to spot zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, gazelles, and many bird species. Day 2: Full Day Maasai Mara Wildlife Exploration

After breakfast, prepare for a full day of adventure exploring the incredible Maasai Mara ecosystem. You will depart with a packed picnic lunch and spend the day exploring different sections of the reserve in search of wildlife. The Maasai Mara is famous for its exceptional wildlife population and is one of the best places in Africa to experience predator sightings and natural wildlife interactions. During your game drive, you may encounter large herds of elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, impalas, wildebeest, and gazelles roaming across the open plains. The reserve is also home to some of Africa’s most famous predators including lions, cheetahs, and leopards.
